A Chartered Accountant (CA) by profession, he brings deep expertise in financial management, auditing, risk assessment, compliance, and corporate governance. His career reflects a consistent record of integrity, accountability, and operational excellence.
Throughout his tenure in banking, he has demonstrated strong leadership in managing financial operations, implementing internal control systems, and driving performance improvement initiatives. His analytical insight and strategic perspective enable him to identify growth opportunities while ensuring regulatory compliance and financial sustainability.
As Board Chairman of the Buoho St. Francis Co-operative Credit Union, he provides visionary leadership and oversight, fostering a culture of transparency, sound governance, and member-centered decision-making. Benedict Tuffuor is a trained Development Planner, Governance Expert, and Managing Consultant (Deputy Managing Director) at TREND, a national NGO. Mr. Tuffuor has over 15 years of experience and a deep understanding of a wide range of areas in pro-poor services delivery, policy formulation, project planning and coordination, monitoring and evaluation, knowledge management, and capacity building at both national and sub-national levels through system-strengthening approaches. Currently, he leads TREND’s Research and Institutional Development Portfolio and is skilled in process facilitation and in developing and integrating innovative tools and approaches into national processes. He has strong communication and interpersonal skills. Benedict has over 20 years’ experience in cooperative credit union operations and has previously served as a supervisory committee member and on other special committees. He has coordinated programs that implemented credit schemes for rural and urban populations. He has an excellent appreciation of governance, group dynamics, local economic development, and varied socio-cultural contexts in Africa. He holds a BSc in Planning and an MSc in Marketing, Social and Organizational Research. He currently serves on the Board of Trimark Aquaculture Centre. He previously chaired the Board for the Waste-to-Food (WaFo) Project – A Joint Venture between Tema Metropolis and Jekora Venture Limited. Key areas of expertise in the following:
